PART 10

Welcome back to your free course "How to Create Your Information Products!" It's time for lesson 9 - "How to increase your sales force with affiliate program".

Marketing sounds like a lot of money to invest up front.

For conventional business, yes. For online business, it's quite the opposite! In fact, you hardly need to put down any money to market your product through the Internet. Remember what I said in the beginning of this book? You'll make serious money using little or none of your own money. Let's stick to that concept.

You'll market your product through promoting your website. The more people visit your website, the more sales you make.

How to attract more people to your website? You can do that through many channels, such as:

•  affiliate program                           
•  search engines                                  
•  newsgroups                                       
•  Ezin ads                                       
•  electronic press release
•  link directory
•  submitting articles
•  exchange banner
•  web ring
•  online journalists

I've tried all of the above, and only the affiliate program, search engines and newsgroups are really worth my efforts. The following is the report of the past six months showing the percentage of visitors who came to my website through each channel:

•  32% from affiliate program
•  43% from search engines
•  21% from newsgroups
•  4% from other channels

You see, 96% of my visitors came from the first three channels. Now let's talk a little about affiliate program.

One of the ways you can increase your sales figures is to set up an affiliate program. Affiliate programs are used by the most successful sites on the web to drive paying customers to their online stores.

If you choose ClickBank as your credit card merchant, they will automatically become your affiliate program partners and run the program for you. The process of running the program is completely automatic using their referral tracking system. You simply login to your account and set the sales commission rate you offer to your affiliates. They will monitor the affiliate click-thru's, they will cut the checks and send them out to your affiliates.

This means that with ClickBank your web site has an instant affiliate network.

Your job is to promote your affiliate program at your web site, and use a "Join My Affiliate Program" (JMAP) link to enroll your new recruits.

Each affiliate needs a ClickBank account (free to sign up) so that ClickBank can track their sales, and send them checks. When you send someone through your JMAP link, ClickBank does three things:

•  ClickBank makes sure they get signed up with ClickBank.
•  ClickBank shows them how to make a hoplink to your site.
•  ClickBank directs them back to your website (at your option).

You'll get your JMAP link from ClickBank's website. It's very important that you use the option of sending people back to your website once they have signed up and become your affiliates.
